The Çamlıca TRT Television Tower was a communications and transmitter tower located on Büyük Çamlıca Hill in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul, Turkey. The structure was owned and operated by the state-owned Turkish Radio and Television Corporation.
Construction of the tower began in March 1972 and was completed in July 1976, while another source notes that the tower went into service on December 30, 1972.
The tower was situated at 268 meters above main sea level. It had a total height of 166 meters, consisting of a conical concrete tower and a steel mast atop, with English sources noting the concrete portion was 148 meters high.
Test broadcasts for a single-frequency network from the tower's transmitter began on February 3, 2006.
On May 21, 2010, a fire broke out at a height of 80 meters on the tower. The fire damaged the transmitter, causing broadcasting to be interrupted until the damage was repaired.
Following the completion of the new tower on the neighboring Küçük Çamlıca Hill, and due to the old steel transmitter masts creating visual pollution and becoming technologically outdated, the Çamlıca TRT Tower was demolished on November 25, 2020.
